Micro-Loans
Business plan: Create a personal business. Market: My neighborhood of 25,000 people. Product: Bread. Sales Strategy: walk around the streets and offer my goods. Investment: $250???!!!
What business can you start with $250 in a developed country? None, perhaps a Street Lemonade Stand and the Helath Department will shut you down. But in a developing country $250 can make a difference in a family business. What is more shocking is that a poor family has no means or availability to get a Micro Loan like that.
GCLA through the GCLA Foundation has been able to set more than 150 micro loans to as many families so that they can become self sufficient. With the partnership of Opportunity for Hope in Ohio, we were granted $50,000 to place in loans. We hope to expand to other locations and continue blessing families.
You can get involved in the work of Micro Loans, by sharing and teaching adults on skills which you are good at, or expertise from handcrafts, cooking, baking to managing inventories and setting a price scale.
